Arizona is facing an affordable housing crisis that is causing financial stress or even homelessness for far too many. One problem is municipal zoning policy, which tends to favor large, expensive single-family homes and exclude more affordable kinds of housing. As part of our focus on how urban structure affects public health, we’ve begun looking into the ways that statewide zoning policy might address the problem.
